ANTOINETTE SCARLET HOTEL

Was craving for some poached eggs as usual after Church service. G suggested we should try out brunch set over at Antoinette ( Scarlet Hotel ). Upon arrival, my first thought was that the area was too small and tiny. Could hardly hold more than 15 pax I guess.!  We were lucky that we visited on a Sunday afternoon, it was quiet and less crowded.

Did a small review previously at Mandarin Gallery and I thought the food and service level there was awesome! Top notch kind. Excluding the 1.5 hr waiting time. But the case was turn around over at Scarlet Hotel. I was not greeted by the server and also on the other hand was treated like peasants! That was indeed a very bad experience. However I'm still goanna go ahead with this review. Food was bad, service was worst. It's like a totally different experience between the two outlets. This which I felt was bad. The server not only tarnish the title for Antoinette but also killed my sunday. This made me conclude that there will be no more 2nd visit but you may try to pop by and see if there's any improvement made. Since the visit was not pleasant one, I shall not go further with their menu. Just last week, I managed to have brunch over at Group Therapy. But sad to say, their service was not up to standard at that point of time. Made a reservation before making a trip down but upon reaching, they mentioned there's no able available. Waited for about 15 to 20 mins before getting a table. Anyway thats aside. Whats impt is their food.

Located on the second floor of a shophouse, and the place was really cozy,  bu a little packed. Ordered a cuppa to keep myself awake for the day! That's how worn out I am these days.

Poached Eggs with thick toast.

Their hollandaise sauce was way too thick and fluffy. Not to my liking. Eggs was not cook in the right way. Read good reviews about this cafe but I thought perhaps because they were too packed that afternoon. Therefore their standard kind of drop. Def not a great brunch for both me and G.

Salmon avocado sandwich.

If only they could offer fresh avocado instead of cream spread. Their toast was over grilled. Harden I would say. Quite disappointed. Nothing too special. Won't be heading back again sadly..

My experience with fiveanddime for brunch with partner g. We were really looking forward after reading about how the others were raving about this cafe. Well overall, there was a bit of let down for their egg benny set.. Have not tried their dinner/ mains therefore can only review for their breakie. Service was acceptable but still, I would say sadly the deco of the cafe and everything else was good except for the fact that the marketer are not paying much attention to the food as well as the pricing. Customer would willingly pay as long as food is good, but somehow or rather after trying out, our opinion to it was 'normal'.

Compared to other Eggs Benedict that usually have just 2 sides and salad, F&D offer their customers with hashed potatoes and side of cut fruits. As usual their poached eggs are served with hollandise sauce but we felt it was too soury. I meant the taste of the sauce itself.

 Fish and Chip on the other hand was good. BUT, pls be remined to finish it off as soon as you can. Reason being once the fish and chips turns cold, the texture will eventually becomes soft. Batter was too oily I guess. Loves those fries thou.

Last but not least, their starter was nothing overwhelming. So we will leave it to your own imagination.
